Hearing loss can often go undiagnosed, especially in young children
Your Ultimate discretion
We at SHABD typically conduct school hearing screening using a series of tests to evaluate a student’s ability to hear different frequencies and volumes of sound. These tests may include pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and other measures that help identify hearing loss and related issues.
The primary goal of school hearing screening is to identify any hearing problems that may impact a student’s ability to learn and communicate effectively in a classroom setting. Hearing loss can often go undiagnosed, especially in young children, and can lead to significant difficulties in academic performance, language development, and social interaction.
By identifying hearing loss early through school hearing screenings, hearing centers can work with educators and parents to develop appropriate interventions and accommodations that help students succeed in school and beyond. Additionally, we provide referrals for further evaluation and treatment for students who show signs of hearing problems that require medical attention.
